Sung Sot Cave (or Surprise Cave), one of Ha Long Bay's most impressive natural wonders, has been ranked among the "Top 10 Most Beautiful Caves in the World" by the Association of Tourism Offices and Brokers of the Czech Republic. Discovered in 1901 by the French, this geological marvel covers an impressive 12,200m², drawing visitors from around the world.
On our Indochine Premium and Indochina Sails cruises, venture into this expansive cave on Bo Hon Island, nestled within Ha Long Bay's UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Enter through a narrow opening that gives way to an astonishing, cavernous interior. Journey through two awe-inspiring chambers: the first, a natural “theater” of stunning formations, and the second, a grand vaulted space illuminated by natural light. Here, you’ll encounter unique rock formations like the “stone horse” and “sword,” before ascending to a “royal garden” at the top for panoramic views across the bay.
