Lying to the south of Halong Bay off the north-eastern coast of Vietnam, the 300-or-so karst islands and limestone outcrops of Lan Ha are just as beautiful as those of its superstar neighbour, but feel more isolated and untouched. Lan Ha also has the additional attraction of numerous white-sand beaches, which aren't found at Halong.
Lan Ha Bay is a member of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World (MBBW), known as the wild beauty of the mountains and forests, and the attraction of the blue sea, white sand, and sunshine.
Unlike Ha Long, all islands in Lan Ha Bay are covered with trees or vegetation and has 139 small, lovely and wild golden sand beaches like "blue straits". Many sandy beaches stretching between two rocky mountains, quiet without big waves, are really ideal beaches.
