Halong Bay handbook for tourists

BEST SEASON TO VISIT HA LONG?
Ha Long City experiences four distinct seasons due to its location in the north. The best time to visit is from April to June when it's warm and dry. July and August are hot and rainy, while September to December is cooler and colder. Ha Long has something to offer in every season. Summer is perfect for swimming and sunbathing, while spring and autumn offer cooler temperatures and a quieter atmosphere for outdoor activities. Visit amusement parks. Peak season for domestic tourists is June-August, when the sun is strongest, especially on weekends. Best time to visit: October to April for pleasant weather.

MOVE
Travel options from Hanoi are plentiful. You can also take a Shuttle Bus to your destination upon request, with a cost of approximately 650,000 VND per person for a round trip. Local buses are a cheap option for transportation, costing around 150,000 - 200,000 VND per person. However, they can be uncomfortable for foreign tourists due to crowded routes. Travel Tip: Plan for a long move.
Best route: Hanoi - Hai Phong - Ha Long highway. Drive carefully by following road signs, maintaining appropriate speed, using turn signals while changing lanes, and wearing a seat belt. Travel time: 2.5-3 hours.

Travel to Ha Long Bay by plane is also an option. There are 3 airports near Halong Bay: Noi Bai (3-hour drive), Hai Phong (1-hour drive), and Van Don (2-hour drive).
Renting a motorbike in Ha Long costs 120,000 - 200,000 VND per day if you don't have your own transportation. For group travel, it's recommended to hire a taxi, order a Grab (bike or car), or book a private car.
